Josh's band "Signos y Sombras" finds itself in the right place at the right time -- benefiting from the economic liberalization that is sweeping the country. This leads them to places that could have never imagined. They become the darlings of "Coca Cola Liquid Rock" on Aztec television. About the series: Joshua Cohen lived in Mexico between 1991 and 1997, first as a student and then working as an economist at the American Chamber of Commerce by day and playing guitar in the Mexican funk band Signos y Sombras at night. This was period of great political and economic upheaval which encompasses the time leading up to and including Mexico joining the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the peso devaluation of 1994. For much of that time Josh took home videos of his experience and recently decided to convert these (and his life) into a sitcom: mExpats. It is the story of young American Expats who were in Mexico seeking opportunity while ostensibly helping out as the country confronted crisis after crisis. Most of music in mExpats is by Joshua Cohen and his various bands. Featured in this episode are the following songs: "mExpats" by Joshua Cohen "Información Deformación" by Signos y Sombras "Los Huevos Revueltos" by Signos y Sombras Special thanks to Wendy Jo Cohen of WideSphere Films who has served as a Creative Consultant on the whole series.
