(For full comparison document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J...) Pt. 4... Overrides. This is a breakdown of what happens when you decide to overrule your pump’s decision to suspend your insulin. Though there are times you completely agree with what your pump is doing, there also will be times you just know better. This is another area where the t:slim really has got it going on. With its high tolerance of the user overriding suspends, it leaves you with the feeling like you’ve got some say in what kind of delivery you’re getting. If you want to add in a bolus during a period where your pump is suspended in the background, you’re welcome to do just that. It’s NOT “my way or the highway” with the X2. It’s more a team effort, and I’m quite fond of how well it all comes together. In contrast, the 670G does not allow the user much control at all. The user does have the ultimate say in whether the pump will remain suspended, but if you decide to override, the feature is disabled for 30 minutes. If you feel you truly need to do a bolus maybe to cover something consumed during a low (to get ahead of the rebound), in short, you’re penalized. If you decide to override in order to add a bolus, you lose the suspend feature for 30 minutes. It’s a high maintenance routine, it’s rigid, and it’s unforgiving. Or at least it was in my case... and I honestly can’t say that enough. We’re all different, and we won’t all have the same take. Anyway, that’s 4, and I’d talk about what’s coming up in 5..... if only I could remember.
