Damaopu (Qingdong Community) in Dongshi District, Taichung City was formed in the second year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1822). It is a square defensive settlement with Taixing Temple (Sanshan Kings Temple) as the core and Qingdong Street as the main axis, with 5 lanes on the left and right. there were once moats, gates and five battalions of divine soldiers temples stationed in the east, south, west and north of the settlement to protect the safety of the settlement. Damaopu, with a history of 200 years, is the most complete Hakka settlement in central Taiwan.
