The piece ranges from sounding forceful and intense to melodramatic in the matter of seconds. I like to associate this trio with a story of a couple going on a peaceful boat trip in the sea, but the waves start to build up and eventually flip the boat. The guy ends up getting the boat back up and surviving, but the girl is no where to be seen. She is presumably drowned. The guy mourns her death and thinks back to good memories with her, while at the same time, trying to survive the horrendous waves. The piece ends with the guy crash landing on an abandoned island, and he realizes he is alone.
