It is a railway station of Ranchi railway division of the South Eastern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. It serve the nearby area of Begunkodar and Jhalda town in the Purulia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Passengers deserted the station and it had come to be known as haunted in Railway records. The station was listed by Railways as one of its 10 haunted stations in India. After visiting Ajodhya Hill Forest Reserve Area, we planned to stay a night at the haunted rail station Begunkodar, ( Begunkodor Railway Station ) . But we have to leave early as filming on this haunted station without police permission letter is banned by the locals. Local people told us, all the rumors about this ghost place , or seeing a ghost is totally fake, all the videos we watch online is fake. But the story behind the station closing for 42 years is true.
