Exploring Dantu Village at 13,500 ft in Darma Valley! From searching for veggies to meeting a kind homestay owner and setting up our campsite—this episode captures pure Himalayan life and raw overlanding adventure. 🏔️🚙 In Part 15 (Day 12) of our Adi Kailash Road Trip in our XUV500, we begin our morning exploring Dantu Village, a tiny, peaceful settlement nestled at a breathtaking 13,500 ft in Darma Valley. Our mission was simple—buy some vegetables for the day—but up here in the high Himalayas, even simple things turn into an adventure. We soon discovered that finding veggies is almost impossible; the only thing reliably available is potatoes, and even the small shop in the village was closed since it was already late noon. While searching, we met a kind local lady who runs Maysha Homestay, and she not only gave us potatoes but also warmly invited our whole group to stay with them. The rooms were beautiful and cozy, and it’s honestly one of the best stay options here. Although the stay cost—₹1000 per person, including breakfast and dinner—was beyond our group budget, we still highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Dantu Village in Darma Valley. So we moved to another stunning location we had spotted earlier for the night’s camping. In the next part, we take you through our entire campsite, our camping setup, and the raw beauty of this Himalayan valley.
