One of my favorite styles of tattooing is surrealism. Surrealism officially began in 1924 in Paris with the publication of André Breton's First Surrealist Manifesto. While the movement was formally established then, its roots began earlier, around 1917, as a literary and artistic movement stemming from Dadaism and inspired by the dream-like, irrational imagery that goes against rational thought.
