Sunday, December 7, 2025 In today’s message, Pastor Alvin Sorelle walks us through a powerful and emotional moment in the life of Jesus — the moments immediately after the death of John the Baptist. Drawing from Matthew 14:1–14, with supporting insights from Mark 6:14–29 and Luke 9:7–9, we see both the deep humanity of Jesus and the unshakable compassion of our Savior. When Jesus heard that John — His cousin, friend, and forerunner — had been brutally killed, He did what any grieving heart longs to do: He withdrew to a solitary place. He sought silence, space, and time with the Father. Jesus was fully God, but He also felt grief fully as a human. But the crowds followed Him. Instead of turning them away, instead of shielding His pain, Jesus responded with compassion, healing the sick and ministering to the broken even while His own heart was heavy. It was in this moment of grief that the miracle of the Feeding of the 5,000 took place — showing us that God can bring abundance, healing, and blessing in the very moments when we feel empty. This sermon reminds us that: ✨ Jesus understands our sorrow. ✨ Even in heartbreak, He sees us with compassion. ✨ God can work miracles in our most painful seasons. ✨ We are never alone — He meets us where we are. If you are grieving, struggling, or feeling overwhelmed, this message offers comfort and hope: Jesus knows your pain, and He is with you in it.
