Come walk through a week with us in the capital of Colombia. The city of 12 million people yet somehow the safest capital in South America. The elevation is a bit over 8,000 feet. Stick around next week to see us climb to over 10,000 feet as we hike the Monserrat. Week 1 was the gloomiest time with daily rain and many clouds. I'm happy to say it cleared up for the remaining weeks we are here which means more places and content to bring to you loves! :) My true thoughts: the calmness in the air is unmatched. With the amount of people here, the respect is unlike anything I've experienced in the US-- absolutely respectful and kind. Although there is a slight language barrier for our first time of having no choice but to use our Spanish, the locals understand my Spanglish and are so kind and gentle with us. The experience has also amplified the position of using body language. With a basic foundation of Spanish mixed with body language (and a translate app if you're like my fiance), you can move around in Bogotà with no issues. The urban planning is well thought out and motorcyclists are the main characters on the streets, more to show in the following weeks! I hope you enjoy. Our Day 1 - Day 7 of 27. Xoxo, Shana & Idus
