Hey all, today I am going to be going over do you actually needs these expensive ass Type A cards or not!!! You do get that sweet 240FPS in 1080Though. thumbs up. These little guys allow you to use all the video codecs and frame rates on the A7siii All-i In 60p 4K and 240 fps in 1080P 1) First I want to talk about the cost. This little guys costs $199 then another $99 for the card reader. Now you can just connect the camera via usb-c and transfer that way but who wants to do that every time. But you can. This comes out to $2.50 per GB which does and doesn't seem expensive. Thats is again only for 80GB the 160GB is $400 Bucks! Thats Crazy personally just to get a few more options on the a7siii as far as codecs and frame rates go. 2)Read speeds, This type A card has a read speed up to 800MB/s which is really fast the fastest v90 SD card is 300MB/s and you have the write speed at 700MB/s on the type A card and on the v90 its 299MB/s so you are getting a ton more reed and write speeds so you can do the high frame rates at the taxing codecs. 3) Record times, To shoot at the ALL-I codec in 4K at 24P you are only getting 45 Minutes per 80 GB card. In my personal case thats not great. most of my shooting is talking head along with some b-roll to go over the talking. this will for sure not be enough recording time but luckly the V90 cards can also do this frame rate and codec no problem but as soon as you jump into S&Q or 60P its a no go. Im not complaining, I am just bringing awareness. 4) Fit and finish, These cards were definitely made to be used first and foremost. They just fit better than the Sd cards do. I usually find my sd card getting somewhat stuck and have to reach in and grab it out. the Type a cards just pop out so nice and easy like butta. its really cool to be able to use both so again im not complaining just find it funny that its all a mind game and it makes you go hmm every-time you take out a sd card. 5) The card reader is cool because it supports up to 10Gbps which is fast! it also lets you use both types of cards in the same slot (not at the same time of coarse) that kind of flexibility is awesome. I run a mac so I always have to use a dongle of some sort for media transfer and its nice to have a dedicated reader I can set on the dest where ever I want. Just have to always remember it when I go somewhere. In conclusion I think its a must have for any A7siii or even FX6 owner. Just because you don't want to be limited to what you can do with your camera after you just spend 4-6 thousand bucks to find out oh shit I cant get that codec and frame rate with out one of these! But hey it took me almost two and a half months to get one and I only got one of the small ones to make sure the money was worth it. and I think it kinda is. Anyway hope you found some of this information helpful and thanks for watching make sure to leave a thumbs up and maybe even subscribe if you want to. Have a good one and we will see ya later. Bye!
