Driver Dead After Wrapping Car Around Palm Tree | Santa Ana, CA

07.20.2025 | 12:26 AM | SANTA ANA - A 37-year-old man was killed when his vehicle collided with a palm tree at high speeds, early Sunday morning. The deadly collision was reported in the 1300 block of South Main Street, near East Oxford Street, around 12:26 AM. When units arrived they located what appeared to be a silver Scion XB wrapped around a palm tree. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 37-year-old Francisco Estrada Rivera, of Santa Ana, was trapped inside the wreckage and later pronounced deceased by medics. Initial reports indicate Rivera was traveling southbound on Main Street at high-speeds when his vehicle lost control and careened into the palm tree. No other injuries were reported and the cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact the Detective K.
