Eclipse Phase - 009 A Wild Tanis Appeared! (Does This Look Infected To You?)

Session 9 of our weekly Eclipse Phase game. This episode marks the one session appearance of Tanis, who you might recall is listed in the intro video but has never actually appeared. This is because Tanis' player moved away and was only able to make it out to the game due to a long weekend (The only other recording she currently appears in was the Murderhobe Inc. one-shot session). But for this episode she gets to play her actual character. Speaking of this episode, it includes: Tanis on a secret Firewall mission, Joshua shrugging off a concussion grenade, The gang getting back together, The sentinels stressing the importance of preventing contamination and promptly failing to do so, A surprising amount of wrasslin', A bathroom being rendered "out of order" for the foreseeable eternity, The sentinels encountering their first Basilisk Hack in the field, which Tanis is found to be unsuceptible to, and who promptly makes off with it — completing a highly shady mission, As well as the most absurd string of lucky rolls I believe I have ever seen. It's worth noting that contrary to what Daniel mentions in the recording its not actually a 1/10 chance every time for a critical success. In Eclipse Phase, 1/10 is just the chance of a critical something — success or failure is based on the character's skill. This means that the probability of the outcome we got is significantly less than a 1/10000 chance. I can't give you an exact number because I don't know what everyone's skill is at Freerunning.
