I Tried Brick Breaking in France… Finding the Right Bricks Was the Hard Part

In this episode of Breaking Around the World, I’m back in France at the Euro Budo Festival searching for the perfect brick breaking materials for a martial arts demo. 🥋🧱 Finding good breaking materials in another country isn’t always easy. This is my third trip to France, and after a disappointing result last year with bricks that had large air gaps and crumbled too easily, I’m determined to do better this time. I return to the same French brickyard (“matériaux”) where I first searched for bricks back in 2023. With the help of Google Translate and a lot of hand gestures, I track down the same blocks from two years ago and start planning my demo for the big Euro Budo Festival night show. But the challenge doesn’t stop there… ✔ Searching through a massive French construction yard for breakable materials ✔ Discovering aerated concrete blocks for a demonstration break ✔ Fitting everything into a tiny European rental car ✔ Dealing with frozen bricks before the demo ✔ Planning the perfect breaking routine using bricks, boards, and aerated concrete You’ll also see how I test stack heights, choose techniques, and design a live martial arts breaking demo on the fly while traveling internationally.
