Recorded on February 4th, 2026. Played on real cart (Japanese version), with a normal Super Famicom controller, on a 1-Chip Super Famicom console. This is an improvement to my 7-21, located here:    • The Mask (SNES) Speedrun - 7:21   I hadn't run this game since late 2022, and since then, many more strategies have been found - mostly as a result of the Brazilian speedrun community, to whom I owe a huge thanks. Upon returning to this game in December 2025, I found some strategy improvements of my own - mostly minor movement timesaves across all the levels, as well as some improved boss fights (such as the bosses of Level 2, 4, and 7). This time ended up being about 4 and a half seconds off my sum of best, which is pretty good - although I do think that if I had kept grinding, I could have managed a 6-34 before finally being tapped out. Worth mentioning is that this run is done on the Japanese version of the game - however, I have noticed zero differences between it and the North American version, other than the text in various Options menus. Notable mistakes in this run include: Overshooting the hole at the very start of the run Missing the vent after the elevator upon defeating Bowling Guy in Level 1 Pressing jump too early after the first vent in Level 2, and waiting in place for about half a second Missing the vent right before fighting Prison Guy in Level 5 Other than that, pretty happy with this run. In particular, I'd say all the boss fights went quite well, getting both a fast version of the Prison Guy quick kill, as well a decently fast Payback Guy fight (although it still wasn't a god fight). I'd love to return to this game if faster strats get found, as I feel I've done everything I can with my own knowledge of the game. Thanks for watching.
