ICH accounts for about 15-20% of strokes. It is also known as intraparenchymal hemorrhage, or hemorrhagic stroke. It has high mortality rate. The main stay for prevention, is management of CASH, with goal SBP 110-130 torr. ----------------------------------------------- HOB up 30°, SBP goal range 120-160, correct coagulopathy, close neuromonitoring. ------------------------------------------------- Note: an ischemic stroke that has hemorrhagic conversion is NOT an ICH. -------------------------------------------------- Contralateral = symptoms or signs on the opposite side of the lesion.
