North Shore and Duncanville met once again under the bright lights of AT&T Stadium for the UIL 6A Division I State Championship, renewing one of the best rivalries in Texas high school football with another physical, low‑scoring classic that went down to the final minute. North Shore claimed a tight 10–7 win to capture another state title and take a 4–2 edge in championship meetings between the two powers since 2018. Game overview This highlight reel showcases every key moment from a defensive slugfest where field position, red‑zone stops, and fourth‑quarter poise decided the 6A DI crown. The game was scoreless through the first half and deep into the third quarter as both defenses flew to the football and shut down explosive plays that usually define this rivalry. North Shore finally broke through late in the third when senior quarterback Kaleb Maryland connected with senior wideout Jaylen Bocard on a 44‑yard touchdown to put the Mustangs up 7–0. Early in the fourth quarter, senior kicker Daniel Cruz drilled a 27‑yard field goal to extend the lead to 10–0 with 9:53 remaining. Duncanville answered with some trick‑play magic as four‑star junior WR Trenton Yancey took a gadget snap and hit SMU commit WR Zach Turner for a 32‑yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 10–7 with 5:33 left. Key players and stats Senior QB Kaleb Maryland (North Shore) delivered under pressure, throwing for 154 yards and the game’s first touchdown, giving him 35 passing touchdowns on the season. His top target, senior WR Jaylen Bocard, showed why he is one of the most dangerous receivers in Texas, finishing with 4 receptions for 79 yards and the 44‑yard score, his 13th touchdown of the year. On defense, North Shore leaned on a swarming front seven and sticky secondary, with standout play from defenders Marvin Beo and Omari Demerson, who helped generate pressure and key stops in the second half. Duncanville’s defense kept the Panthers in it behind senior Ole Miss commit LB Landon Barnes, who came up with a huge late‑game sack on Maryland to give Duncanville one last possession with under three minutes to play. Duncanville’s offense created just enough drama in the fourth, highlighted by Trenton Yancey’s 32‑yard touchdown pass to Zach Turner on the trick play that pulled them within three. North Shore’s defense responded, however, tightening up in the final minute and forcing a turnover on downs inside their own 30‑yard line to seal the championship. What you’ll see in this video Kaleb Maryland’s 44‑yard strike to Jaylen Bocard to finally break the scoreless tie in the third quarter.
