Here is a tape which replaced Rock And Soul, and which remained in service on BBC2 between October 1990 and December 1994, when BBC1's Jump In tape jumped across the boundaries to the channel; however, the tape Start Up was already in service on BBC1 from March 1992 as a replacement for Ear Of The Lion, which did once have a playing on BBC2 by accident when there was a shortened edition of Westminster one morning!!!! Anyway, the tracks from Thomas de Silva and Mike Maxfield are called: 1. Time Kode; 2. Carnival; 3. Westlake; 4. Morocco Bound. In February 1994 both BBC channels were forced off the air because of a small fire which hit the basement at Television Centre, leaving BBC2 to play this very tape in full against a holding slide for Olympic Grandstand, followed by GLITS 440Hz tone and then the first two tracks of Winter Sun before Jayne Constantinis made the apology announcement. In the meantime, BBC1 showed a coloured test pattern with 1kHz tone before cutting to the BBC1 globe with two tracks from Europa Time before their apology announcement. During its first year or so Time Kode was never played with the testcard until around May 1992!!
