Building a House: Construction Steps – Framing the Roof & Installing Shingles

We are building a house, and in this video we are framing the roof, covering it with sheathing, installing asphalt shingles and flat roofing the canopy. We are continuing the on-site construction process of building our custom home as we show you how we stack and lift the roof trusses by carefully maneuvering around trees and hydro polls, organize the trusses, frame the roof and skylight, apply the sheathing and install the shingles. Previously on our new home build, we completed the excavation, forming & pouring the concrete foundation walls, waterproofing, back filling the foundation, installing the steel beams, and completing the framing for our main and second floors – make sure to catch those episodes if you want to get up to speed. We are now continuing to frame the roof in our new construction home and it’s amazing how quickly the design of the house takes shape – it’s so rewarding and gratifying to see our creation coming to life!
