All sounds in this video were generated by yamaha DJXII sound module. No post recording FX or EQ added. All patterns/loops were programmed on external hardware and software MIDI sequencers and transfered to yamaha DJXII by Pattern Launcher software. What is yamaha DJXII ? It is a sound module and MIDI loops player (SMF format patterns). It has 100 yamaha’s AWM voices, 80 FX sounds (vocal, scratches ect.) and 23 drum kits and also a master live FX processor on board. There are two versions of DJXII – box (DJXIIB) and keyboard (DJXII). The patterns may be: processed thru fx processor the tracks (up to 8) may be muted or unmuted during a playback pitch shifted (preserving tempo or not) tempo changed (preserving pitch or not) note-shifted ( non drums voices only). The DJXII can read standard midi files format (MID) however DJXII will not playback a standard MID songs due to its sound module is non general MIDI (GM) standard. A user patterns/loops may be up to 85kb in total, and they may be organized in 5 slots and 10 variations each. Patterns must be transfered from PC or MAC by "Pattern Launcher" software. Panorama Split Version. Each of my patterns has it’s panorama splitted version wich allows you synchronize and send the output mono channels separately to external fx processor (eg. a looper or delay/reverb) and mixer.
