Firstly, download and install WebODM (link at the bottom). If you are on a Mac you will need to use Chrome as your default browser, this can be done in System Preferences in the General Tab. • Open WebODM and when ready click Start, the software will load, and Chrome will open with the tool. • If you are new to this, you will need to create and account or sign in if you already have one. • Click Add Project • Give the Project a name and description you can identify it with • Click Create Project • Now we need to add the images we created in the mission, click Select Images and GCP • Locate and select the images you shot • Click Open • Check that WebODM has the correct number of images, if it doesn’t simply click cancel and reselect them. • Change the Options drop down to 3D Model • Click Review and then Start Processing • Once processing has finished click the plus icon next to the project name • Turn task output on, this will allow you to see progress • The images will then be uploaded, and the map creation will start running. This can take several minutes depending on the number of images. the timer will keep you updated. • When finished the process bar will show Completed and the task output with show Done! • To see the area mapped click, View Map and your photos will be overlayed on a map. • Using the Opacity slider, you can change switch between your photos and Google Maps. • To switch to the 3D map, click the 3D icon in the bottom right corner. • A basic 3D map will load which you can drag, rotate, and resize using the mouse and left or right buttons. • To view the full model, click the Textured Model drop down in the top left corner and then Show Model. • You can also use the data from the map to 3D print or in other software, click Dashboard to return to the start. • Click the 1 Tasks link and then the plus icon next to the project. • Using Download Assets dropdown, you can select the format for downloading the data. • Click you option, select where you want to save it and it will create a ZIP file.
