Now that winter is over and I'm not freezing, time to get back to the Hiker Trailer. The last big project for now is to take care of the wiring under the trailer. Back in January 2024, I showed you the inappropriate wiring underneath and the poor ground at the 7-pin trailer hookup distribution block. I've started running new wire, but today I'm discussing how to get the wire into the trailer from the bottom. Hiker drilled a 3/8" hole in the back corners, shoved wire in, and then gooped silicone in the hole. It was nothing more than a hope and a prayer because those silicone plugs were loose enough a small flick of the finger could pop them out. Not good if you need to keep water off the plywood. I show how to do this with cable gland housings and cable glands. The factory would probably want to do this a little differently, and I show that at the end of the video.
