Review and Set-up below Set-up AKAI AP-206 Record player Empire (EXL-10) element Produced: 1979 Kenwood KA-1200B Stereo Amplifier(13W p/c @ 8Ω) Not serviced! Produced 1977 Studiocraft 300ST Speakers (60W, 4-8Ω) Produced in the ‘80s On Record: AREA FORTY_ONE – A1. Nocturnal Passions Part III Delsin records, 2019 Review: About this record player nothing less then good. Maybe the element/cartridge could be replaced for an even better one (this one performs fine for normal use), but the rest is just magnificent. This direct drive wants to drive! The amp responds reasonably well to this music and delivers firm bass and steady tones to the Studiocrafts. IRL this definitely sounds better then on cam, but we think you get the picture. The sounds make you kind of like disappear in frequencies. And maybe it’s because of the story behind this record; a trade from a local DJ (If I remember correctly we traded his record for a nice discount on a Lenco L75 :) Anyway, when I first listened it, it reminded me of one of my golden oldies albums from the early ages of house-music; The Big Cahoona by Sequential. Bringing back memories of bench-listening the complete album with friends. Good old days. As a shout out to the DJ, we wrapped this clip up in a Sequential in- and outro. Sorry for the timing (I am no DJ). Spinning this 2019 house-music on this set-up is a real pleasure. It looks good, it sounds great and it feels like in the old days.
