What if Beethoven wrote Moonlight Sonata when he was feeling a little whacky?

We’re posting a brand new track every day of the year! This is track 68. I was listening to some music by my friend Amos on the drive home today. He plays really cool, chill, ambient, minimalist, neo-classical type piano and synth music. He was doing a similar 2 vs. 3 rhythm on one of his pieces, and it was ringing in my head when I walked into my office. I turned on my good ol' DX21, and the patch I used last time I turned it on was still pulled up (a combination of "PianoBrass" and "PianoBells." It lent itself nicely to this little minimalist d minor thing. I recorded another layer of bass in the same patch. (Even though it may look a little like someone else was at the keyboard with me, all 4 of those hands in the video are mine. haha.) I sent it off to DJ, and he sent back some really sweet guitar swell things, really elevated things. I decided it needed one more thing. I thought it would be melody, but then I found the fun little repeating ostinato/sequence thing on the Microfreak, with a little help from the Chase Bliss Mood. I'm pretty pumped with how this whole thing turned out! I hope you like it too! Also, I didn't realize that it had some similarities to Moonlight Sonata until I was sitting here trying to come up with a better title than "Polyrhythm." haha. I know it's not totally similar to Moonlight Sonata, but it isn't entirely dissimilar either. :) (Oh, it's also my birthday today, so if you've been enjoying these videos but haven't subscribed yet, I'd consider that to be an amazing birthday present if you did!!)
