Progressive house producer Timur Shafiev and Russian duo The Double Drop's track was selected as the winner of a recent GURU demo competition and gets the release its attitude deserves. Dirty synths, crunching beats and bullish basslines work the early part of the track into a hectic soundscape. As the beat gains yet more power, Hysteria picks up monumental force and drive, surging forwards with a seemingly relentless determination. Then, with a deft hand, the collective seed in a beautiful sense of delicacy courtesy of some old school piano chords. The keys are joined by melodic basslines, which then morph and distort before exploding back into the intense fires of Hysteria.
