How to Make a DIY Seedling Heating Mat for Seed Germination! MacGyver Style!!!

Heating mats for seed starting can be expensive, especially if you need larger ones, or a few of them. In this video I show you how I created a simple, temperature-controlled space for keeping my seedlings warm. OK, I admit it, I bought the digital thermostat for $18, but the mat itself was made almost entirely of things I already had around the house. This definitely falls into the MacGyger “don’t try this at home” category of DIY projects. Unless you know how to wire a lamp, and have the common sense not to burn your house down, definitely don’t do this. I don’t give explicit directions for just this reason! If, on the other hand, you are handy and know enough to wire a lamp, you should be able to figure out the details without much more help from me!
