The Belmont University College of Law course on Australian and international white collar crime offers an exciting blend of academic and travel experiences. In the classroom, students delve into Australian history, culture, legal systems, and international white collar crime through engaging readings like "The Secret River" and "In a Sunburned Country," and related films. The highlight of the course is an 8-day immersive trip to Sydney, Australia in early May. Students have the unique opportunity to meet legal professionals, including those at the U.S. Consulate, top law firms, and courts. They participate in enriching cultural activities such as historic walking tours, harbor cruises, museum visits, an Aboriginal cultural event, and a Blue Mountains tour. Throughout the journey, students maintain a reflective journal and later write a comprehensive paper on their experiences. This immersive experience in Sydney provides students with a unique and unforgettable educational adventure.
