Israel strikes passenger plane in Yemen's Sanaa airport

Israel bombed an aircraft and runway in Yemen's main airport on Wednesday, claiming it was striking Houthi targets. It comes a day after the Houthis fired two rockets toward Israel. The two have exchanged rocket fire since Israel began its war on Gaza in October 2023, with a brief pause during the short truce earlier this year. The Houthis say they are acting in solidarity with Gaza and will stop firing rockets at Israel when it ends its war and blockade on the strip. The US previously led strikes on Houthi targets, but the Trump administration declared a ceasefire when the Houthis agreed to stop interrupting international shipping in early May.
