Effects of Different Abutment Morphologies on Peri-implant Hard and Soft Tissue Behavior

The transmucosal abutment of an endosseous implant is the direct connection between the dental implant with the saliva, bacteria, and other challenges in the oral cavity. Natural teeth benefit from gingival and periodontal ligament fibers that provide an attachment and point of resistance to bacterial or foreign body invasion. Dental implants do not have the same mechanism. So in DSI, we decided to help the body to withstand constraints by implementing an implant platform switching combined with a concave abutments shape. The recently published systematic reviews are based on documented human trials examining the difference in hard and soft tissue outcomes of concave abutments, revealing a statistically significant difference in marginal bone loss in favour of concave abutments.
