A collection of Teds The subculture came out of a wave of revivalism since, in the early 1950s, wealthy young men in London started being interested in the style of the Edwardian period: the name 'Teddy' is in fact short for 'Edwardian', and was coined in 1953 by the Daily Express newspaper. By the late 60s the Teds were slowing moving on, Then in the 70s a new generation came along, Rock`n`Roll became popular and these new Teds were Rockin the 70s and 80s, and causing as much trouble as their predecessors. today these same Teds are still the teds they were back in the day.
