Out much sooner than the Sung Tongs one. A collection of early recordings of the songs off of Animal Collective’s Strawberry Jam. It's crazy how fast the band was moving at this point, Feels had only been out for a week and they were already playing songs off an album that wouldn't be out for almost two more years. Unfortunately not every song is here as "Unsolved Mysteries", "Derek", "Water Curses", and "Cobwebs" weren't performed until after the album's release (meanwhile Winter Wonderland has never been performed live). There's an intensity and strangeness in these versions, similar to how the band sounded on Ark I feel. I honestly wish some of the elements made it into the final versions on the album, such as Panda's frantic drumming on "For Reverend Green", or Deakin's effects-layered screaming during "Chores". Not sure if “What I Do” was ever intended to be with the Strawberry Jam bunch, but it’s only performance was around the same time, so it’s included. Enjoy.
