Canada’s first national park has a rich heritage as one of the world’s most awe-inspiring mountain destinations. The park is packed with scenic valleys, glaciers, peaks, forests, lakes and rivers. In this video we would like to share with you some of the most scenic places in Banff National Park. 00:23 - Vermilion Lakes Vermilion Lakes are a series of lakes located immediately west of Banff village. The peaks of Mt. Cascade and Mt. Rundle dominate its skyline. On Banff Avenue you will find boutiques, restaurants and château-style hotels and souvenir shops. 08:05 - Bow Lake Bow Lake lies south of the Bow Summit and it is one of the lakes that line the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. Water in the lake is meltwater of the Bow Glacier and its turquoise coloring is due to glacial till. 08:55 - Bow River The river's source is from the Bow Glacier, which is part of the Wapta Icefield. The outflow from this source flows into Bow Lake in the Canadian Rockies. It flows south to the village of Lake Louise then turns east and flows through the town of Banff and through Canmore. 09:44 - Waterfowl Lakes This is a group of lakes located next to the Icefields Parkway in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. 10:05 - Castle Mountain Castle Mountain is the easternmost mountain of the Main Ranges in the Bow Valley. 10:32 - Lake Minnewanka Lake Minnewanka is fed by the Cascade River, flowing east of Cascade Mountain, and runs south through Stewart Canyon as it empties into the western end of the lake. Numerous streams flowing down from Mount Inglismaldie, Mount Girouard and Mount Peechee on the south side of the lake also feed the lake. 11:42 - Icefields Pkwy The Icefields Parkway parallels the Continental Divide through some of the most wild and remote parts of Banff and Jasper national parks.
