When Confederate General James Longstreet was sent away from Braxton Bragg's Army of Tennessee, he was tasked with defeating Union General Ambrose Burnside at Knoxville, Tennessee and capture that city. Before Longstreet launched his East Tennessee Campaign, Burnside captured the region in September 1863. Two of his objectives was the Cumberland Gap and Knoxville. This animation depicts Longstreet's attempt to get Robert E.
