This video includes 3 main tips for planning your sewing project after you've chosen the pattern, fabrics, and notions. 1. Staging - pulling everything out and organizing it in a way that allows you a detailed looking into the steps of the projects. 2. Visualization & Imagination - Seeing the project, with the tweaks and changes in your minds eye, and 3. Sewing Samples - an often overlooked but important part of ensuring a smooth experience. At the outset of every project, consider picking up a "handy-dandy" project planner notebook, to note things like your necessary pattern adjustments for best fit and/or adjustments you are making for embellishment and style, thread colors chosen for the serger seams, and any additional notes like how your changes will be done and in what order according the main guide sheet of the pattern. For this pattern, I am adding a lining, cording along front pieces, topstitches and a button, none of which are on the actual pattern. So it's important to have somewhere to note the steps I'll take to adding those items. The most important take away from this video is that, good sewers, are very detail oriented, following the guide sheets to the letter for best results,... But Great Sewers, are also Great Planners. We plan well, so we can "Sew in the Flow" producing something wonderful, while also enjoying the process along the way! Enjoy, and *Please Like, Share, and Subscribe!
