📖Brief Introduction Ningbo Asoka Temple Asoka Temple, located at the western foot of Maoshan in Wuxiang Town, Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, is a renowned Buddhist temple with a long history. It was first established in the third year of Taikang during the Western Jin Dynasty (282 AD) and is the only existing ancient temple in China named after Asoka. The temple covers an area of 124,000 square meters and has a construction area of 23,400 square meters. It is not only a key Buddhist temple in the Han area of China but also a place that showcases the essence of architecture, sculpture, gardening, and painting arts. The temple is built against the mountain, and its main buildings are distributed along a north-south central axis, with the Heavenly King Hall, the Great Buddha's Hall, the Relic Hall, and the Scripture Storage Tower as the center. The affiliated buildings are symmetrically arranged on the left and right and rise in sequence from south to north. Among them, the Relic Hall is the main building of Asoka Temple and the most solemn place. Inside the hall, there is a stone relic tower that preserves the top bone relic of Sakyamuni. This is one of only three existing Buddhist relics in China, along with the tooth relic of the Buddha in Lingguang Temple in Beijing and the finger relic of the Buddha in Famen Temple in Xi'an. In addition to the magnificent buildings, Asoka Temple also houses a large number of cultural relics, including 58 steles and inscriptions from the Yuan, Ming, Qing, and modern times. Some of the more precious ones are the "Stele of the Permanent Fields of Asoka Temple," the "Stele Inscription of Chenkui Pavilion," and the "Inscription of Miaoxi Spring". Throughout history, Asoka Temple has experienced various developments and changes. It has received the attention and support of emperors in different dynasties, and has also been influenced by historical events such as wars and disasters. However, it has always maintained its status and charm as an important Buddhist holy site. Today, Asoka Temple attracts a large number of pilgrims and tourists every year. People come here to worship the Buddha, appreciate the ancient architecture and cultural relics, and feel the profound Buddhist culture and the tranquility and solemnity of the temple. It is not only a spiritual sustenance for believers but also an important cultural heritage and tourist attraction in China. 🗺️ Map 地图 https://maps.app.goo.gl/pYwc45x1573VSBzA9 🌟 Liking shows your affection. 🚀 Sharing doubles the joy. 🎉 Subscribing initiates a wonderful journey.
