Finger Tracking Data Glove | Introduction | Part 1

Finger tracking data gloves play a crucial role in virtual reality, gaming, animation, healthcare, and rehabilitation by accurately capturing hand movements and gestures. However, existing solutions often face challenges such as high cost, limited flexibility, discomfort, and sensor inaccuracies. Many gloves rely on flex sensors, IMU sensors, camera systems, or pneumatics, each with its limitations, including wear and tear, drift issues, or high implementation costs. To overcome these challenges, we developed a novel finger-tracking data glove using a flexible rack and pinion gear mechanism, offering improved accuracy, comfort, and affordability.
