Commercial medical simulation models can range from hundreds - thousands of dollars and are often completely unaffordable for students. The supplies used in this video are often easy to find around the house or can be purchased at a low cost on amazon or the medical supply store of your choice. You may also wish to ask your university for free supplies to practice from home. Studies show that simulation models can be even more helpful than practising on animals and people especially at the beginning by increasing the level of confidence in students in a low stress environment. To make fake blood you will need A tablespoon for measuring Vegan red food colouring - this is a cruelty-free model and the dye does not contain carmine or crushed red insects. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B... Water for thinning the glycerine A container with lid to mix and store the fake blood Other things you will need Self-Adhesive Foam Sheets - They can be any colour you like and The size of these sheets depends on how large you want your model to be. All Purpose Adhesive Cotton Balls Syringes & needles - Any size and needle gage is okay Disposable gloves Rubbing alcohol or water can be used for practice Soffban Padding and vet wrap (Cohesive bandaging) are optional if you want to use your model to practice bandaging.
