RED SPOT Whiskey Review | The BEST Spot Whiskey?

Red Spot is kind of like the big brother in the Spot family of whiskeys, it's the most expensive of their core range, but it really does deliver a lot of flavour! It's a 15 year old, 46% ABV single pot still whiskey which was matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry and marsala casks, giving it a really rich and layered series of flavours to unpack. It's been a long time since I had a bottle of Red Spot on my shelf, as I finished my last bottle before I started reviewing whiskeys, and I just never got around to replacing it, but luckily, one of my fellow whiskey-tubers, Doc from Old Fashioned Ways, was passing through Ireland and we met up for a few drinks and he actually surprised me with a bottle, so I knew I had to get myself and Rose's thoughts on this classic Irish whiskey Make sure to check out Old Fashioned Ways here!    / @oldfashionedways   Red Spot Tasting Notes: Nose: Caramelised red apples, with warming baking spices are immediately apparent on the nose, with some dark berries and cherry notes adding a nice layer of fruitiness which backs up the rich, sweet caramel influence from the bourbon casks Palate: Nice and peppery on the palate, with traditional pot still spices and oiliness leading the charge. As you sit with it, more sweetness comes to the fore, the wine and sherry influence isn't dominant, but does add a nice roundness to the whiskey. Finish: For a 46% whiskey, it has a nice, long, and well balanced finish.
