I was originally going to buy just the 78 rpm stylus so I could play and/ or digitize some of my collection of vintage shellac. I decided to go the extra mile and buy the whole cartridge/ headshell unit instead. Swapping back and forth is easy and only requires the tracking force to be reset. Rebalancing the arm is not necessary. The sound is excellent. The headshell is standard, so it will work with other turntables as well.
