The one issue that concerns every citizen in Rockwall County is the exponential growth, which includes, housing, commercial development, traffic congestion, and of course, growth in government which means higher taxes, and is why we’re going to tackle each in turn. 34:56 a. So, let’s start with the explosive growth in housing, like master planned communities or multi-family apartments and townhomes. Do you think the city is on the right track when approving these new developments and are they contributing to, or taking away from, the lifestyle that citizens of [city] desire? Why or why not. This of course puts government in the position of picking winners and losers on the backs of taxpayers. So, where do you stand on this issue and how should the city go about deciding when it is appropriate to use incentives like tax breaks or taxpayer funded infrastructure projects to attract businesses and commercial development? It seems like regardless of where you live, traffic congestion is getting progressively worse, which is beginning to have a real impact on the quality of life for many.
