WARNING: Anti-Barry content throughout Never in a million years did I think I, Barry stan from day 1, would make an edit portraying him in a bad light when it came to Iris. But season 8 has turned him into someone unrecognizable to me, a far cry from the sensitive, passionate, loving, protective husband/fiancee/boyfriend from previous seasons. When I heard this song I knew it was perfect for how he was being portrayed and my feelings about him in general. Now, this vid does turn slightly AU in the latter half just b/c I use scenes from earlier seasons when he was not lousy and terrible, just b/c the song is longer than s8 clips allow for. But basically Iris feels like she gives and gives to Barry, whatever he needs, and he does not return the favor. He just takes and is neglectful of who she is and what she needs. And many times she tries to break things off but she always comes back b/c she doesn't know who she is w/o the person she's become w/ him, and ofc b/c she still loves him despite the person he's become. And in the end, she sacrifices her life for what he needs. It's a sad vid for sure, but depending on what the finale gives us, I hope to have a happier one coming soon. Hope this vid gives you feels. Any comments mad about my interpretation on the state of Barry on the show will be deleted.
