Track (02/16) from my New Mario Kart Double Dash - All Cup Tour TAS (MKDD) Woooo ! Sub1'30 is real !! It's been half a year, huh ? But I finally finished the new DC TAS ! And it's a massive 1.15s cut ontop of a legendary sub ! One of the reasons that this took so long, was that I re-restarted the TAS mid-lap2, because I found a faster method for Poolskip, where I now MT down the stairs before RTeching around the corner. The RTeching also keeps me grounded more, letting me stay around 55mph while sliding around the corner. Since this new Poolskip method saved ~120ms over my previous method, I decided to implement it into lap1 aswell, saving 350ms over the entire run just from that. You might think most of the timecut here comes from the 4 shrooms that I get in lap3, but actually, shrooms suck in a TAS unless you can cut something with them... The tripple shrooms that Luigi pulls and the one that drops from Birdo's Egg are both heavily RNG-manipulated by the way. Since I now know how to hex item-usage / item-roulette stops, I have a lot of power over every item-pull in a race. And because I wrote an app that lets me add ZTech in post, I am able manipulate the items even more (if I didnt ZTech before stealing the tripple shrooms for example, Bowser would have pulled a Bowsershell, and thrown it at me in the Dining Hall...). However, these 4 carefully manipulated shrooms only saved a disappointing 180ms, and it costed me ~110ms to steal them... that's barely 70ms netgain... The biggest timesave actually comes from better lines and fully optimized MTs (old TAS dropped to 65mph a bunch, this one only drops to 66mph), which saved ~400ms on lap1, and ~175ms on laps 2+3, so 750ms from pure optimization. And I also found a slightly faster ending strat, where I make the kart roll over while jumping over the final stairs, so that I touch the ground sooner.
