Three men were arrested in connection with an apparent incident of racial abuse on a tram in Manchester, England. The footage shows a young man shouting at another tram passenger, calling him an “immigrant” and telling him to “get back to Africa.” The man at the receiving end of the verbal abuse was later identified as an American. A Greater Manchester Police press officer told Storyful that a racist incident on a tram was being investigated on Tuesday morning. Police later shared a Facebook post responding to the video, confirming that the “hate incident” took place at around 7:40 a.m. Greater Manchester Police shared a clip of the same video showing the three men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. “We are aware of a video of a hate incident that has surfaced online this morning," chief inspector Gareth Parkin said. “This is a disgusting display of abuse which quite frankly has no place in society. All hate incidents are treated with the upmost severity and this behavior will not be tolerated in Greater Manchester."
