About Hon. Cathy Kezimana Cathy Kezimana is a dedicated champion for women’s empowerment, social justice, and equal opportunity across the East African region. Her leadership is rooted in a deep belief that every woman possesses the potential to transform not only her own life, but the lives of those around her. Through her work, Cathy continually inspires women to build self-confidence, pursue economic independence, and step boldly into leadership roles. Before joining the East African Legislative Assembly, Cathy served with the NGOs Heartland Alliance and Dalla Parte Degli Ultimi, where she worked closely with vulnerable minorities and underserved communities. These experiences strengthened her commitment to advancing human rights, dignity, and inclusive development. Today, as a Member of EALA and a member of the Executive Committee of the EALA Women’s Caucus, Cathy continues to advocate for policies that uplift women, protect marginalized groups, and create opportunities for equitable participation in all spheres of society. Her vision is clear: a region where women lead with strength, dignity, and hope — shaping a future that benefits all.
