Disney World Annual Pass 2019 - Is It Worth It? (Saves $700)

Of course Disney World raised the cost of Annual Passes (AP) in early summer just as the big summer rush was beginning. It just makes business sense. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is also opening at the end of August. Given the success of it at Disneyland, Disney wants to generate as much revenue from the increased attendance as they can - partly to pay for the Star Wars investment and partly to continue to invest in new innovation across its parks. With the massive price increase, about 20% more at some AP levels, the question becomes: Are Annual Passes still worth the cost? For some, this is a no-brainer. There are great benefits for Passholders like 20% discount on merchandise and some meals, unique Passholder only benefits, AP magnets during festivals, select discounts on tickets and rooms at Disney World resorts, and the included Memory Maker (which has allowed us to capture great family moments and is a $170 value on its own). For most of us, this can be a very difficult decision. APs were borderline expensive, but now they are definitely expensive............but so are Disney World Park tickets after they raised ticket prices in October 2018 (see link below) and raised them again in March 2019 (see other link below).
