This year, Dr. E. will be sitting down with some of these Stars individually, asking them about their individual journey. Our first Shining Star to join Unspoken Words is Audrey Whisman. When Audrey was young, she was completely non-verbal in almost all settings. Eventually she found her way to the SMart Center. Now, at 18-years-old, Audrey is thriving! Not only is she fully verbal, she is a champion for Selective Mutism treatment, sharing her battle with SM on her social media. She is currently preparing for the Miss Teen Volunteer America pageant, where every here at the SMart Center will be rooting her on.
