The Mad-13 is a 30 litre, rugged roll-top rucksack.  If you’re looking for a long-lasting bag that stands out and has some serious working chops, this is the bag for you.  The rolltop design creates the best weather seal and allows you to tightly pack your backpack with as much or as little as you need.  Like all Jack Stillman bags, the Mad-13 is made from premium materials designed to last and look better with age.  The bag is made from 16oz beeswaxed canvas that is water-resistant and can be re-waxed over its long lifetime to maintain protection from the elements.  Our leather is Vegetable tanned, we receive it when it is raw and treat it naturally ourselves avoiding the use of harmful corrosive chemicals like Chromium and formaldehyde. With time the leather and the canvas will soften and form a beautiful patina.  We also use proper brass D-rings and snap hooks instead of cheap, zinc-coated hardware. Our brass is heavy, solid and will polish up or tarnish naturally depending on what you like.  All of these materials look awesome together and will further compliment each other with age, making your bag look like a rustic antique before you know it.  Often, less is more when it comes to designing a good bag, so you’ll find this bag is kept relatively simple. Especially when you look at the construction. The main compartment is one continuous piece of canvas from the back panel. This means less corners, less stress points and less breaches. On the front are two quick access zip pocket zips and the main zipper at the top of the bag. These YKK luggage grade zips are by far one of the highest grade zips on the planet! The top leather handle is reinforced as are the padded shoulder straps which are adjustable using an old-school double D ring friction lock and 100% cotton webbing. At the base of the bag we’ve given you two genuine leather lash tabs for attaching a jacket, blanket, sleeping bag etc. Inside the MAD-13 is pretty simple but functional with a zippered valuable pocket, sunglasses, pen and phone pockets.
