Hi all How are you? Hope all well. This video will explain in detail how can we build garage shelving and utilize overhead space on back side of garage. These overhead shelves can handle weight of tires, lawn mowers, seasonable items, suitcases, tots etc. Please follow below instructions: 1. Always use a dust mask, eye and ear protection and take extra care while using power tools. 2. Get help from someone while lifting, measuring or whenever needed. 3. Plan everything on paper first. 4. Prepare everything on your work table first so that installation goes easy and fast. Tools used: Circular saw, rafter square, impact driver, drill machine, ladders, level, hammer, measure tape, Pencil, stud finder Framing nail gun and air compressor(optional) - you can use hammer and nails or impact driver and screws. Miter or chop saw (optional) - you can use a circular saw with a rafter square to cut wood. If working with concrete walls - Concrete hammer drill with 3/16 drill bit and 1/4 x 2 3/4 concrete screws to attach 2x4 lumber to concrete walls Material and hardware used: Material planning thumb rule: every 100 sq ft of work you need 30 pieces of 2x4 and 3 sheets of 7/16 thick osb or 1/2 inch thick plywood. 2x4x8 construction lumber #8x3 screws with flat head #2 square drive #10x3 1/2 screws with flat head #2 square drive #10x4 screws with flat head #2 square drive (optional) - in case shorter screws are not enough to reach to studs or joists due to double drywall or insulation behind drywalls. 7/16 OSB or 1/2 inch plywood 2 inch framing nails or #8x1 1/2 inch screws to attach plywood to 2x4 wood.
