In this video we are going to key up a NAPA Auto Parts store aftermarket ignition for a GM vehicle from the 10 cut era (1995-2004’ish) We have published two other similar videos one about 6 years ago • GM 10 Cut Ignition Cylinder Disassembly to... and another about 4 years ago • GM 10 cut - Reading Key & Assembling Ignit... One of the biggest reasons these ignitions “fail” is because the key gets worn down or is a bad copy. 98% of the time you can cut the key back to original depths and the ignition will work fine again (a good quality lubricant like Houdini or TriFlow or LPS1 always is a good idea as well) Note: I was unsure whether or not I would ever actually post this because the end angle of the camera while I was peening the cap was bad and my hand blocked the view. This video was filmed about a year ago due to that issue and I just never did anything with the footage. Until now 🤷♂️ so enjoy, or don’t and leave comments like “I CAN’T SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING” Instead you could probably go to one of the other videos (linked at the end of this video and above) and forward to the end where the view might be better.
