This is video #029 in my Final Fantasy IV playthrough. The party heads to the Dark Elf's Crystal Room, where the party faces off with the Dark Elf. Unfortunately, the Dark Elf is unbeatable. All seems to be over, but then Edward's harp music comes across the TwinHarp. The hideous elf cannot stand the bard's beautiful strumming, and he drops his guard. The party re-equips their metal weapons and gets ready to battle. Unfortunately, the battle is still not easy, particularly at these levels. Dark Elf's three-spell combo is pretty weak now, but he has Whisper, which can inflict the Piggy status on a party member. Don't let Tellah or Cecil stay a Piggy! He also has Wind, which can put a party member near death. Cure the party member hit immediately. You may want to have some DietFoods from Mythril Village. Otherwise, you will need to rely on Tellah's Piggy spell to reverse the effect. Physical attacks from Cid, Cecil, and Yang will take out the Dark Elf. After Dark Elf has lost about 24,000 HP, he will transform into the Dark Dragon. He only has about 4,000 HP, but it will be difficult. His D. Breath attack does a lot of damage. Tellah must use Cure3 as soon as possible to heal this damage, which is why you don't want him to be a Piggy. If Tellah dies or runs out of MP, the battle is probably lost. If your levels are low, Cecil's Cure2 will also be helpful. Cecil, Cid, and Yang should use normal attacks or heal with items as needed. When the battle is over, the party heals up at the save point again and prepares to leave. Thank you for watching! This video is part of my Final Fantasy IV Playthrough playlist.
