Cities and Human Rights

About this event Cities are places where people experience human rights violations collectively. Disputes arising from such experiences are increasingly percolating into the international legal arena. Focusing on decisions of international and regional human rights tribunals in matters concerning multiple individuals bound together by urban residence, this article considers how the urban condition is beginning to transform conceptions of victimhood, conventional understandings of individual and collective rights, and reparations in international human rights law.
